The Amateur Winemakers of Central Illinois are a club of hobbyist winemakers who cooperatively purchase grapes, make wine, and operate a wine contest. Begun in 2004, the club has been purchasing 1 to 2 tons of high-quality vinifera grapes from California annually since 2006. Our wine contest has grown to be the second-largest contest in the State, though entrants are restricted to amateur winemakers.
